Since the first Bitcoin was mined back in 2009, the original cryptocurrency has been on a wild ride from a value of mere pennies to a peak of $5,000 earlier this month.
My introduction to Bitcoin came in May 2013 when the price was $120. Things ticked along steadily after that, until November when the price skyrocketed, reaching over $1,100 towards the end of that month. Unfortunately, the good times didn't last long and the price crashed. By March 2014 Bitcoin had dipped below $500, with the slide continuing to just above $200 in mid-January 2015. Fast forward to late September 2016 and the price had made up some ground to above $600. And now, just one year later, a single Bitcoin is valued at more than $4,000. So what does the future hold for Bitcoin? This blog plans to follow its path, which will hopefully lead to what many believe to be its ultimate destination ... the moon!
